Homeless People

Grade: 8 | Year: 2016 Published On: 2016-11-22

Imagine a football game; the stadium filled with 105,237 people, once the match is over; each one of these individuals doesn’t have a home to go to. That’s how many homeless people there are in Australia; 105,237. They’re usually identified with statistics, but each of them has a name, a family, a story; someone’s daughter, someone’s son, a mother even. Joseph Stalin, the Russian dictator, once said “One death is a tragedy, a million deaths is a statistic”. In the case of the homeless, let’s not be so heartless. Let’s not allow the homeless to be a statistic.
Behind every face of a homeless person is a set of circumstances that lead to their tragic situation. Rebecca was 14 when she fled from home. She was only 12 when her abusive father left home and this had a disastrous effect on Rebecca, which then resulted to her getting involved with drugs. When Rebecca turned 13, her mother found a new partner. This man sexually abused Rebecca and abused her younger sisters as well as her mother. Keep in mind; she was only 13… the same age as a few of us in this room.

gratitude

Grade: 8 | Year: 2016 Published On: 2016-05-15

If you woke up this morning happy and healthy, you are more blessed than the million who died last night. If you have food to eat, clothes to wear and a house to live in, you are much better than those who do not possess these.
If your parents are there to take care of you,you are very fortunate.
If you can hold someone's hand, hug him or even touch him on the shoulder, you are blessed because you have a friend.
If you can read this message, you are blessed than over two billion people in the world that cannot read or write.
Showing gratitude, appreciation, or thankfulness is a positive attitude for the acknowledgment of a benefit that one has received or will recieve. People who experience gratitude are happier, more helpful and forgiving.
Gratitude provides you the abundance of happiness that you desire and deserve in life.
One basic attitude of life is one of claiming rights and shunning responsibilitties..We have ceased to appreciate the blessings of life such as health, the beauty of nature, human relationships, love and to respond to them with gratitude.Gratitude is the key to happiness. We feel that life owes us the fulfilment of every desire and if we do not recieve this, we feel bitter and envious.
Why should we be thankful?
Gratitude allows you to make you aware of the good things that are happening in your life.
Gratefulness is the key to a happy life that we hold in our hands. If we are not grateful, then no matter how much we have, we will not be happy because we will always want to have something else or something more.
Gratitud is the good quality which springs from where soul.
What if god decided to stop blessing us?
If you had a bad day in school, be thankful.Appreciate that you have a school to attend too.some children dont.
If you think your hair is grey, be thankful. Think of the cancer patient who only wishes for hair.
If you think, your complexion is dark, be thankful.Think of the patient of leucoderma who has white patches on there skin.
When you have to help your parents at home, be thankful taht you have parents to take care...some children dont have.
When you think everything in your world is terrible and you you want to give up, think of the people who ahve have been told they only have a certain amount of time to live.Even they dont want to give up.............

Gender Equality for men

Grade: 9 | Year: 2016 Published On: 2016-10-23

Gender Equality
Have you ever seen a girl been hit by a man? If so how did you react? But if we were to flip the situation and a guy were to be hit by a girl, how would you react now? You always hear that women don’t get paid equally to men or that women are treated unfairly within their working environments. In the past decades gender equality policies have been surrounding mainly as a women’s issue. There have been many cases where women have been raped and sexually assaulted, men have been charged with large fines and even sent to prison. On the other hand women who have done the exact same crime have either been charged a small fine or nothing at all. When you hear the word gender equality you think about women and the word is only associated with women but men do experience the same problem within todays society

choosing to be or not to be the choice is yours

Grade: 11 | Year: 2015 Published On: 2016-08-05

a famous musician once said the difference between man and animals is that man makes history and is the master of his destiny.Choosing to be is indeed a first step in a journey of a thousand miles .A year does not sit where another has sat,it brings its own chair .The clock ticks and never stops .One who chooses to be realises the essence time.Indeed when choose to be he will know the value of time for no man is rich enough to buy back lost time. When one chooses to be failure will not be a destination ,rather a hump in a journey to success.Winston Churchill once said''Success is going from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm''Yes you might have failed in life but that does not mean the end of it all.Failure must not be seen as a demotivator but yeast that makes you rise from zero to hero. This world is like a stage where every man have a part to play.Never give up because you have made a mistake. When you choose to be you realise that nomatter how many outrageous things you have done you still can take a different turn and change your life. Its better late than never but it is better never than late .Nomatter what cicumstances you are facing always know that its a passing phase .one day the sun will rise again, hold on to your values and to your dreams.Prove that you are the best on top of the rest and noone can take away what you are meant to be.Always have a goal for without crystal clear goals you will waste time drawing circles.Emmily Dickson once said''Each life converges to some center whether expressed or still exists in every human nature a goal''the tragedy of life does not lie in not reaching ones desired goal but it lies in not having a goal to reach.humans are a mystery which can only be unravelled by the master of you destiny who happens to be yourself. One of life's little ironies an aver revolving paradox is our fear of being alone.let go of the fear and let your you true colours reflect.we never truly realise who we are until we take a lot of time for introspection and self reflection
